Seven Wonders of United Arab Emirates

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abud Dhabi.  It is the primary worship place for the country.  It was constructed between 1996 and 2007.  It is the largest mosque in the country and the 8^th largest in the world.

The Burj Al Arab is a luxury hotel found in the city of Dubai. It is the third tallest hotel in the world and has the self-proclaimed title of being the world’s only 7-star hotel. Constructed in 1999, it reaches a height of 1,056 feet (322 m).

The Emirates Palace is a luxury hotel built in Abu Dhabi. It features 114 domes that are 80 meters high. The hotel is surrounded by 85 hectares of gardens. It is the most expensive hotel in the Middle East and second most expensive in the world.

Palm Islands, also called Palm Jumeirah (first of three), is an artificially created island or archipelago in Dubai. There are a number of hotels and resorts on the island.

The Al Jahili Fort is one of the country’s leading historic structures. It was built in 1891. Once serving as the residence of the governor, it now serves as a museum and landmark for the country.

Liwa is a city that features a collection of forts created on of mud bricks and straws. They range in age from 200 to 300 years old.

Burj Khalifa, also called Burj Dubai, is a skyscraper in Dubai. It is renowned as the world’s tallest structure reaching a height of 2,722 feet (829.8 m). Construction was completed in October 2009.

The Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a Ferrari themed amusement park encompassed inside 2,152,782 square feet (200,000 sq m) making it the largest indoor amusement park in the world. It is home to the world’s fastest roller coaster.

The Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain. It is spread out over a 30-acre manmade lake in Dubai. There are 6,600 lights, 25 colored projectors. Water reaches heights of 500 feet (152.4 m).

The Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House is a historic building. It originally served as the living home for Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, former ruler of the United Arab Emirates. It was built in 1894. Today it is a museum.
