Taipei 101, previously called Taipei World Financial Center, was the tallest building in the world from 2004 through 2010.  It reaches a height of 1,473.8 feet (449.2 m).  There are 101 floors with 5 below ground.

The Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall was constructed in honor of the deceased former President of China, Chiang Kai-shek. It reaches a height of 249 feet (76 m) and construction was completed in 1980.

Mengjia Longshan Temple is located in Taipei. Construction was completed in 1738, however it has been destroyed in part or in whole are numerous occasions and consistently rebuilt reflecting the commitment and value of the temple.

Taroko National Park features a landmark gorge. This is one of eight national parks in the country. It features the largest naturally enclosed space extending 2,300 feet, long, 1,300 feet wide and 230 feet high.

Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall, also called Wan Qing Yuan, is a two story colonial villa.

The Taiwan Confucian Temple was constructed in 1665. The Taipei Confucius Temple is the only one adorned with Fujian style ceramic adornments.

The Eternal Spring Shrine, also known as Changchun Shrine, is a memorial shrine honoring the 212 veterans who died while building the highway. It is a landmark and picturesque place for the country.

Tuntex Sky Tower, also called the T&C Tower or 85 SkyTower, is an 85 floor skyscraper. Its unique construction reaches a height of 1,140 feet (347.5 m). Construction was completed in 1997.

The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas serve as a temple found at Lotus Lake. Construction was completed in 1976. Each of the seven story towers features yellow walls, red pillars and orange tiles.

Sun Moon Lake, also called Lake Candidus, is the largest body of water in Taiwan. The east side of the lake features a sun while the west side is similar to a moon. It reaches a depth of 89 feet (27 m) and expands across 3 square miles (7.93 sq km).

Shifen Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall found outside Taipei. The falls are on the Keelung River. They reach a height of 66 feet (20 m). It is the broadest waterfall in the country.

Yushan, translated “Jade Mountain” is also called Mount Yu. It is the highest mountain in Taiwan reaching a summit at 12,966 feet (3,952 m). It is the 4th highest mountain on an island.

The Rainbow Bridge extends across the Keelung River. It connects the Xinming Road in the Neihu District with the Raohe Street in the Songshan District. It measures 167 meters.

Yehliu, or more completely Yeliu Promontory, is a cape off the coast of Taiwan. It is renowned for the uniquely formed geological hoodoo stone shapes around the area.
