Seven Wonders of Singapore

The Gardens by the Bay opened only two years ago, after they spent 350 billion dollars on it. It features two huge domes, a Skyway and lots of gardens. The domes mentioned earlier are actually biodomes as well. These domes are homes to various flora species. The Cloud also houses indoor waterfalls.

The Artscience Museum is a specialized museum that showcases exhibits from around the world. It is the first ArtScience museum in the world.  It houses 21 gallery spaces with a total of 50,000 square feet.

Theatres on the Bay is a building created as a center for the performing arts.  The facility consists of a concert hall, which seats about 1,600 and a theatre with a capacity of approximatley 2,000.

The Helix Bridge was originally named the Double Helix Bridge.  It is a pedestrian bridge that connects Marina Centre with Marina South.  The bridge featurs four viewing platforms that provide visitors with spectacular views of the Singapore skyline.

The Sungei Buloh Wetlands serve as a naaure reserve in the northwest part of Singapore.  These were the first wetlands reserve established in Singapore.  The declaration was established to reflect the global importance as a stop-over spot for migrating birds.

Marina Bay Sands represents the worlds most expensive building at 5.7 billion USD.  It is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay featuring a hotel, convention center, restaurants and entertainment venues.  It has enhanced singapore's skyline.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens are the only botanic gardens that are open from 5:00am until midnight every single day.  It is a 183 acre (74 hectare) botanical garden, which also provides admission for free.

The Merlion is the mascot and national personification for the country.  It is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish.  The body stands for the country's origins as a fishing village with the lion's head representing the name "singapure" which means "lion city."
