Seven Wonders of Ethiopia

Fasil Ghebbi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a fortress enclosure located in Gondar. It was the residence for Ethiopia's emperors in the 17th and 18th centuries. Construction follows a collection of Nubian, Arab, and Baroque styles. It includes a castle, palace, library, banquet hall, three churches and more.

Danakil Desert is found in the Afar Triangle. The deepest point reaches 100 meters below sea level. The area is renowned for extreme heat and lack of hospitality.

The Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion is the most significant church in the country. They claim to have the Ark of the Covenant. The original church was believed to have been built during the reign of Ezana, first Christian emperor.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral, also known as Amharic as Kidist Selassie, is the highest ranking Orthodox cathedral. It is the second most important place of worship in Ethiopia.

Bole Medhanealem Church serves as then catalyst for the name of the city Medhanealem, which translates to "Saviour of the World."

The Lion of Judah is the symbol of the Israelite tribe of Judah, and it is also used as a Christian symbol for Jesus from Revelations. For Ethiopia, it also holds significance as a symbol of the monarch.

The Blue Nile Falls are also known as Tis Abay, meaning "smoking water." One of Ethiopia's most famous tourist attractions. The falls range from 37 to 45 meters high, and get up to 400 meters wide during the rainy season.

The Church of St. George is one of eleven monolithic churches. It was historically named Roha or Warwar. It is an important religious place in the country.

Ras Dashen, also named Ras Dashan or Ras Dejen, is the highest mountain in the country. It is the 10th highest mountain in Africa. The mountain reaches a peak of 14,928 feet (4,550 m).
