Seven Wonders of Australia

These limestone formations are located in Nambung National Park, in Cervantes, Western Australia. These limestones of the Pinnacles came from seashells. Australians were not aware of The Pinnacles until the 1960s, when it was turned over to the Nambung National Park. Over 250,000 tourists visit The Pinnacles annually.

The Twelve Apostles has become a popular tourist destination because of its wide collection of limestone stacks that can be found off Port Campbell National Park’s shore. There are only nine formations, but it was named as the Twelve Apostles.

The Sydney Opera House has become an icon of Australia. The building is located along the shores of the Sydney Harbour. This UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts a lot of concerts and events, and has become one of the major tourist attractions in Sydney.

Fraser Island is Australia’s sixth largest island with a length of 120 kilometers and a width of 24 kilometers. Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world and features mangrove forests, eucalyptus, sand dunes, woodland, rainforests and coastal heaths.

The Bungle Bungles are beehive shaped sandstone features that are unique in style and shape. The Bungle Bungles are found in the Purnululu National Park which is one of Western Australia’s geological landmarks.

The Sydney Harbor Bridge is one of Australia's iconic landmarks. The bridge and harbor it expands serve as the backdrop for many of the country's global celebrations, such as the Olympics and the 2000 New Year.

The Royal Exhibition Building was built in 1880. At the time it was built, it was still the tallest building in Melbourne and the largest in Australia. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was the only 19th century exhibition hall, which held an international exhibition.

The Round House was built in 1830 and was opened a year later. The building is actually the first permanent building that was established in the Swan River Colony. The Round House was built originally for the purpose of housing the indigenous and colonial prisoners up until 1886.

The Park was established in 1984 and 22 years later, it was added to the Australian National Heritage List. It was because of its outstanding natural beauty and it had one of the riches collections of indigenous rock art.

Shark Bay is located 800 kilometers north of Perth. The bay area supports 26 different threatened mammal species and holds 12% of the world's populations of dugongs.
