Seven Wonders of Israel

Temple Mount, also known as Har haBayit in Hebrew or Haram al in Arabic, is considered one of the country's most important religious sites.  The religions of Judaism, Islam, Romans, and Christianity have all used the Temple Mount as a holy place.

Masada is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Israel. Fortified by Herod the Great, the ancient building overlooks the Dead Sea. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Dead Sea is a salt lake with a salinity up to 34.2% making it the saltiest body of water in the world. The surface shoreline is at 1,401 feet (427 m) below sea level making it the lowest land elevation.

Caesarea Maritima is a national park located on the coastline. It was built by Herod the Great. The ruins and national park were named to give honor to Augustus Caesar.

The Sea of Galilee, also called Kinneret, Lake Tiberias and the Lake of Gennesaret, is the largest freshwater lake in the country. It is the world's lowest freshwater lake. The place of the Biblical act of Jesus walking on water.

The Bahai' Gardens, also known as Terraces of the Bahai' Faith, surround Mount Carmel's Shrine of the Bab. They are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the more popular tourist attractions in the country.

The Jaffa Clock Tower is located in Tel Aviv. It was built during the Ottoman period. The tower is made of limestone and serves as a memorial for the Israelis killed in the Arab-Israeli war in 1948.

The Makhtesh Ramon, also called Ramon Crater, is a desert geological feature. It is the largest makhtesh in the world measuring 40 km in length by 10 km in width. The crater has a depth of 500 m. It is the largest national park in Israel.

The church of the Holy Sepulchre is a church that is located inside the boundaries of Jerusalem's Christian quarter. It is also called Golgotha or the Hill of Calvary and is the place where Jesus was crucified.
